Waiting game

So here we are together in the US. Sorry it's been so long since either of us has updated, I'll try to remedy that. Short story of what's been going on.

Alex came home July 26th, but due to a missed flight didn't actually hit HOME until the 27th.

We were married September 25th in a nice civil ceremony. Nothing fancy, we'll save that for later.

We sent all of our AOS (udjustmant of status) and EAD (work permit) paperwork in on October 24th.

Find out that we sent it to the wrong place, much panic ensues, but things turned out ok. We got our NOA1s for both cases on the 8th.

So that gets us all caught up on what's been happening, so jusmp to todays events.

WE GOT AN RFE GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I just read the email, here I am getting ready for work thinking "hmm I should check my email". There are 3 from the USCIS office. I was hoping it would say that our case was transfered to CSC (california service center) since CSC transferees have been processing much faster and have had no interview which would save us money from having to drive somewhere and get a hotel, but no RFE. Wonder what it is. Probably on money or something. I guess we'll find out.

Major stress time now, but with any luck...it'll at least be here soon so we can fix it. I sure hope so.

Wish us luck everyone, we're in the final stretches (we're hoping)

yay I got the visa yesterday it was great !!

so here is a little review.
I went to paris with a friend Benoit. We had to leave early in the morning ( we actualy left at 3.30 am) because I had my medical appointment at 11 am in Paris.
the road was good all the way up to Paris but once you're in there you'd better be relax and calm because everyone there is driving like crazy they aren't nice at all once the parisian are in their car. the traffic is awefull. so we were drving and kinda lost so we were looking around for streets name and then I saw it La rue rivoli it's the road where the embassy is next too. We found a parking " 45€ for not 29 hours" that's expensive....we leftthe car here and decide to take the subway for the rest of the day.
11 AM time for the medical the doctor office was pretty easy to find. MY medical was fine she asked me some questions and took my tension listened to my heart beat and lunge. everithing was fine so far. I had to go have the blood test in the laboratory who was at 10 min walk. that was fine too the nurse were nice apart that she could'nt find my veins for 5 min so she had to do it where it hurt .:-( told me she is going to send the result to the doctor.

after thatwe went to the eiffel tower and walking around in some park and street. and after it was time to go eat and sleep for the next day !!
20 july woke up at 8 Benoit at 8 45 ...... lol we went do the X ray at 9 30 it was so quick we spend maybe 20 min in the building that's all and I had my result in hand : we were good to go see the doctor for the last time.

I'm actually 1.87 meter for 85 kg  I'm totally healthy apart that I smoke cigaret."not too much she said but still she told me that it was bad ....yeah I know" I have no tuberculosis that's cool to know and no apparent disease. is jealousy a disease ? ( my honey knows what I'm talking about lol )

at 1 PM I went the the embassy for the interview I was realy stressed at this point. I had to wait outside for 30 min I was in second position yay for that. once in there they check your bag and everithing like at the airport but no plane to take for now.
ok at this point I'm totally lost there is a lot of people and I have no clue where to go or what to do so I ve looked around see the diplomatic visa line empty so I wentto ask to girl behind the desk. she told me to wait because the visa K1 was not began.

I've wait like 45 and then finally a woman told the K1 visa people to go at the window 4 and to give papers to her. I run over the place and was first to give my papers lol. after that I had to wait again until the actual interview.
the interview was pretty nice an easy she didn't ask me for anything tricky she just looked at some pictures and letters ; ask me where did I met Tashia and when ; how many times I wentto the US well all the regular stuff. finaly she said " ok that's fine your visa is aproved ! " I said COOL ! thak you very much your welcome and then I left to Call tash to told her the good news !!

now we are hoping the visa will be here monday so I can take the plane on wednesday. I realyhope.

This update is actually not one of MINE. I assumed Alex would update this stuff days ago but never did soooo here goes (he can fill in the details later)...

...Our paperwork has been recieved at the Paris embassy, and packet 3 should be any day now. They DID tell us not to expect an interview till July or August, but we're hoping if we can get the paperwork fast enough and bother them every day ....

...maybe. There's a much longer story than that, but it's not mine to tell.

Our case was receved at NVC yesterday and we recieved a new case number. PRS2006 then the case number. I can check our status over the phone. I got an estimate of 2-4 weeks before it's mailed off to the consulate but from what I understand it's usually much faster. More like 2-10 days. So I guess we'll find out. It's one step closer either way. Which is amazing. Next step consulate, the n[acket 3, then interview.

I have all the papers to mail alex now as well. Recieved the last ones tonight. I'll be sticking them in the file after azzy goes to sleep then making sure everythign is perfectly organized. After which I'll write a letter of intent to marry, and pull some of my phone bills to add in for current relationship stuff. alex will have to print out some more recent conversations and emails and things. My printer has no cable lol. But he can do it. Then we'll be well on our way and ready for the interview. HOORAY!

Day 60
09:38pm 28/04/2006

mood: hopeful
Sent all of the aditional info to NSC yesterday, it should have arrived today. No touches on our case, but it may take a few days to process. I'm hoping we'll be aproved soon and this wont cause any problems. The person directly above us in the NSC list from VJ was approved yesterday. ISIL. Made my day wonderful. Hoping that we get approved soon. Tomorrow I'l be piecing together the packet to send Alex. Still waiting on a few papers from our cosponsor, and then it'll be sent off. We have a few weeks before he needs it. Then I'll send it Priority on my next paycheck.

So far I've got some of our original letters and my I134 papers. I hae to wait for one more copy of tax transcripts, but they'll be here any day as I recieved 2 of them yesteray. My divorce decree will be included, along with my original birth certificate. I'm hoping that's all we'll need besides a letter of intent. I'll send that next day mail once we get an interview date.

At least there's a ray of hope, and not so much stress over mistakes. But I'd feel much better with a case status update. Maybe monday.

And if anyone knows of a good certified translator in France, please let us know so Alex can have his police record translated.

Day 57
10:20pm 25/04/2006

mood: confused
Visited the lawyer today about having our petition amended. Not exactly sure how we're going to do it. Also learned yesterday that my old army unit in pocatello SEVERELY messed up my paperwork. My file is missing and they never actually gave me a release date after I was discharged. This is getting more exciting every day *eyeroll*. With any luck I can get ahold of Sgt. Proctor tomorrow and see if he got an archived copy of my record so I can send it to alex, and get the exact dates for my military job so it can be amended precisely on the papers. I've been reading alot about amending things at the consulate but, I'd much rather have it done now so we don't run into problems later.

Still nothing as far as touchign or approval goes. We keep hoping, but for now I'm hoping it gives us a few days to fix things. As much as I miss alex, I'd rather take the time now to fix things.

Gathering more originals to send for the interview once we get one. My original divorce decree, birth certificate, letters, phone bills. Alex will have to gather his old boarding passes and itineraries from flights to prove his being here, and he's ordered prints of pictures of the three of us together. I hope that's everything, but I guess we'll find out if it's not.

Wish us luck in this stupid journey we've undertaken. And wish my stupid ass luck in gettign things righted where I messed up.

Day 54
09:09pm 22/04/2006

mood: hopeful
So here it is, Day 54 and still nothing. No RFE, No approval, tto even a touch. It's disheartening, but at the same time, we've seen so many approvals coming out of NSC. We keep hoping, and it can't be far away. I've been busy collecting everything Alex will need for his interview at the consulate. should be going up Wednesday to pick up all the I-134 paperwork from mom and randy. My tax transcripts should be here in 2 weeks or so, plenty of time. I have my emplyment letter, and monday I'll go get a letter from the bank. Between that, the tax transcripts, the employment letter, and my check stubs from last pay and on until I send off the package (and then some after he sends his packet 3) from both myself, and my parents...I'm hoping we'll be okay financially.

The wait is getting harder every day, but at the same time, it flies by. I checked our ticker today, and we've been apart 2 months and 25 days. That's nearing the longest time we've ever been apart, which was a total of 3 months and 12 days. So here's hoping we make it without killing each other lol. No we'll do fine, it's just a long hard wait. I wish I had somethign exciting to update, but unfortuantely no.

Well, wish us luck, and here's hoping sometime next week we'll know something.

so here is a little update. Some NOA-2 have been given yesterday by the Nebraska center. We are hoping to get out Noa-2 pretty soon too it would be fantastic because at least we'd know if the visa is accepted ans I would receive the package-3. I really hope with all of my heart that we will receive it soon since the nebraska center was kind of dead lately lol. their coffee break is over need to get back working now !! HURRY UP YOU GUYS OUT THERE ! it's a pain to wait. :-(

mood: sad
Well we're still in that horrid waiting period. Waiting for someone to so much as TOUCH our case, so we know it's been opened, that someone is workign on it, processing it. Luckily, there are people from the NSC with reciept dates of end of January that re recieving their approvals so it shouldn't be long now.

According to www.visajourney.com (please let me have done the addy right) on AVERAGE, we have an aproximated approval date of APRIL 29th. We're hoping. if it's that early, I'll jump for joy and cry and clean my house and everythign I've ever promised I'd do and that put off lol.

Anyone going through this process or is even interested in it, please visit that site. it's given me more hope, and more help, and more info than anywhere.

Well I'm off to browse VJ some more, and wait for an email from the USCIS.

Wish us luck.

money !!!
03:52am 11/04/2006

mood: determined
so here is an approximation of the money you'll spend to have the VISA I129F

File form I-129F 170 $
Passport pictures 10 $
Passport 80 $
all the medical exam 170 $
hotel (if you have to) 40 $
Visa 50 $

total 520 $

and I don't count the attorney fee that we paid for our Lawyer who were 650 $

ps : in our papers was missing my birth certificate (in english) and a Police report ( to see if I'm a Gangster lol )

so I went to go get these papers and the girl at the City hall wasn't able to find the police report paper. she told me it would be mailed to me this afternoon. so I'm waiting.
For the birth certificate I have to write to the Paris CIty hall cause I was born in Paris. I hope they will be able to translate it in English.

Well we 'll see.

The Application
06:35pm 10/04/2006

mood: hopeful
Here is what we included in our application.

Cover letter with list of enclosed papers
Form I129F
Form G28 ( this is the number my lawyer gave me this morning, but somehow I don't think that's quite the number)
Form G325A
Letter of intent to marry
2 Passport photos
Copies of long distance phone bills
Emails
MSN conversations
Personal photos of Alex, myself, and our daughter Azzy
Posted letters and envelopes showing postage
Birth certificate
Passport copy

This was the basic package, each form was filled out for each of us, passport photos for each of us. Basically we needed 6784546768904567 copies of everything. After everything was said and done, we sent off the packet with a $170.00 and $650.00 attorney fee.

Update for the day, I spoke to our lawyer this morning, he will be contacting the NSC to find the status of our case and WHY we were pressed back in time. Also why our case shows no movement since March 01, 06 so wish us luck on speeding things just a bit. In the meantime we'll be gathering any and all paperwork needed for Alex's packets and interview. He should update the status on those tomorrow sometime.
